The Sexy OLIVIA WILDE

OLIVIA WILDE Born Olivia Jane Cockburn (pronounced Coburn), OLIVIA WILDE's mother is Leslie Cockburn, a producer on 60 Minutes (Leslie Stahl), and her father, Andrew Cockburn, is an Irish journalist, documentarian and National Geographic contributor. Growing up, OLIVIA WILDE was educated at many highly regarded—read: expensive—schools: first Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C., then Phillips Academy prep school in Andover, Massachusetts, then The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland (where classmates undoubtedly asked her, "Where are you from, why are you here…and would you care for a Guinness?").

After initialy working as a casting assistant, OLIVIA WILDE
made her screen debut—albeit on the small screen—on 2003’s Skin, in which OLIVIA WILDE played the Jewish daughter of a pornography king. How that didn’t take off, we’re still not sure, but it didn’t, which freed up OLIVIA WILDE to appear in films like the underrated The Girl Next Door (Elisha Cuthbert), the overrated Alpha Dog (Sharon Stone, Heather Wahlquist) and the not-really-rated-at-all Turistas (Melissa George, Beau Garrett). OLIVIA WILDE also had an awe-inspiring recurring role as bisexual Alex Kelly on The O.C. (Rachel Bilson, Mischa Barton), and OLIVIA WILDE played basically the only female character on the failed NBC series The Black Donnellys—which, come to think of it, might be the reason it failed.

More recently, OLIVIA WILDE has appeared on House, M.D. (Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison) as a young doctor named “Thirteen”—we guess it’s better than “Cockburn”—and in 2008 she starred in a movie directed by her husband, Tao Ruspoli, called Fix. Of course, when it comes to OLIVIA WILDE, we don’t think there’s anything to fix.

Upcoming movies for OLIVIA WILDEinclude: In NorthWood (2009), The Year One (2009) and TRON 2.0 (2011).

OLIVIA WILDE has appeared in the films The Girl Next Door, Alpha Dog, Conversations with Other Women and Turistas. OLIVIA WILDE became known for her role on The O.C. as Alex Kelly. OLIVIA WILDE has also appeared in the Dashboard Confessional music video for "Stolen", and the French Kicks music video for "So Far We Are". OLIVIA WILDE was strongly considered to play Bond girl Vesper Lynd in the 21st Bond film Casino Royale; Eva Green eventually won the role.

In 2007, OLIVIA WILDE was a part of the ensemble cast of the short-lived NBC midseason drama The Black Donnellys. OLIVIA WILDE's character, Jenny Reilly, was the lone principal female character in the series following the lives of an Irish-American family tied to organized crime in New York City. Also in 2007, OLIVIA WILDE appeared in the play Beauty on the Vine, a political thriller, playing three different characters.

OLIVIA WILDE joined the cast of the FOX medical drama House in fall 2007, playing a young doctor, Dr. Remy Hadley, nicknamed Thirteen, who works closely with Dr. House. OLIVIA WILDE told Star magazine how she sometimes takes cues from her character even when she's not working, saying, "I'm now convinced that I'm a doctor. I mean, if someone says they have a pain, I'm like, 'Well, that's your spleen.'"

The New York Observer has described OLIVIA WILDE as having a "throaty voice" and the "wide, teal-eyed charisma of Hollywood in the days of yore". OLIVIA WILDE has cited Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Frances McDormand, Catherine Keener and Robin Wright Penn as acting inspirations, and also admires playwright Eve Ensler and director and actor Woody Allen.
