Journey to the Centre of ANITA BRIEM

ANITA BRIEM (born 29 May 1982) is an Icelandic actress.

ANITA BRIEM has appeared in Icelandic films, and in international productions such as The Tudors in which she portrayed Jane Seymour, and Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008).

ANITA BRIEM is the daughter of drummer Gunnlaugur Briem of Mezzoforte and vocalist Erna Þórarinsdóttir. ANITA BRIEM started acting when she was nine at the National Theatre of Iceland. In 2004, ANITA BRIEM graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

ANITA BRIEM is Iceland’s new “it-girl.” The 24-year-old ANITA BRIEM recently had her first big break starring in the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of Journey to the Center of the Earth, opposite Brendan Fraser, in which ANITA BRIEM plays the team’s tour guide in Iceland.
The movie, currently filming in Iceland, is based on the classic science fiction novel of the same name, written by Jules Verne in 1864, but is being shot in High Definition-3D, making it the first film ever to use the technology. An actress since the age of nine, ANITA BRIEM moved to London at age 17 to pursue her career and enrolled in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

After graduating in 2004, ANITA BRIEM got her first role in a movie, a Spanish produced thriller called The Nun. Later ANITA BRIEM had a role in an episode of Doctor Who, the popular British TV series produced by the BBC. In 2005, ANITA BRIEM landed a role in the ABC -TV series The Evidence, with Orlando Jones, Rob Estes and Martin Landau.

Two snowmen are standing in a field. One says to the other, “Funny, I smell carrots, too.”

About the jokester: Iceland. Big island up north, not as cold as it sounds. Land of Vikings, glaciers, Björk, and ANITA BRIEM. The 26-year-old actress plays an Icelandic mountain guide in the reincarnation of the Jules Verne classic Journey to the Center of the Earth. It’s in 3-D, which means Brendan Fraser’s overwhelming heroics are tempered with warm, angelic apparitions of ANITA BRIEM. “It’s an honor to be filmed in three dimensions,” ANITA BRIEM says. “I wear skintight mountain-climbing trousers. Glad I was in decent shape.” ANITA BRIEM claims the movie is an opportunity to spread the word about the spirit of the Icelandic woman. So, Iceland. “You have to experience it for yourself. You’ll have as much fun with the trolls and the elves as you will with the beautiful blonds.”
